Why Bridge Prayer?Jesus is the Bridge:
No one comes to the father except through me – John 14:6
Jesus is the bridge to eternity and everlasting life.
Intercession and prayer is a Bridge:
Ezekiel 22:30 calls us to stand in the gap and to be a bridge of prayer.
Faith is a Bridge:
Faith is the bridge between where we are and the place God is taking us, individually, corporately and as a peninsula.
Bridges of unity:
Unity commands a blessing, Jesus prayed to the father – I am in them and you in me, so that they may be brought to complete unity.
If Jesus prayed for unity in the body, the church, his bride, then this is our model.
Jesus prayed that the whole church be unified around the mission of spreading the gospel.
John 17:23 NLT:
I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.
Unity in prayer shows the world that we love each other more than we see differences in how we meet, minister and worship.Galatians 5:6:
For in Christ there neither circumcision or uncircumcision has any value.
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
Mission statement:
Bridge Prayer and the Bridge Prayers (those who come to pray), are a community of Jesus followers who unite regardless of denomination or church culture to seek the face of God for revival on The Wirral. Believing that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the father except through him – John 14:6, that Jesus is the bridge to everlasting life.
Bridge Prayers believe that intercession is a bridge of faith between where we are and where God is leading us, and that God calls us to form a bridge between him and the lost by standing in the gap for them – Ezekiel 22:30Bridge Prayers believe that unity will command a blessing upon The Wirral and beyond. Jesus prayed I am in them and you in me, may they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you love them. If Jesus prayed this, then how important is it?Will you join us in forming a bridge of love, power and unity in prayer across the peninsula. Prayer being the scaffold and backdrop to our mandate of sharing the good news of Jesus to everyone we know and meet – Matthew 28:16-20Bridges don’t just happen, they must be built, will you join us on the second Tuesday of each month at the St James Centre, Laird Street Birkenhead from 7:30pm to 9:30pm?Bridge prayer is co-ordinated by Jo, it is not run or lead by any church and goes where the spirit leads only. Our logo of the bridge over the waters of The Wirral also incorporates wild geese, these being a prophetic symbol of the Holy Spirit, and the Kite, which reminds us to hold our own plans and agendas lightly as we seek God’s plans in all that we do, and all that he wants to do through us on The Wirral and beyond. For further details contact [email protected]
